What's Open, Closed On Christmas In Fredericksburg In 2023
Christmas closings in the Fredericksburg area begin Friday and continue through Christmas weekend. Most facilities will reopen Tuesday.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Christmastime is here. Some facilities around Fredericksburg will begin closing their offices on Thursday. Most government facilities will remain closed through the weekend and reopen on Tuesday.
Below are the openings and closings to know for Christmas around Fredericksburg.
- City of Fredericksburg government offices: Closed on Friday, Dec. 22 and Monday, Dec. 25.
- Spotsylvania County government offices: Closed on Friday, Dec. 22 and Monday, Dec. 25
- Stafford County government offices: Closed on Friday, Dec. 22 and Monday, Dec. 25
- Courts: Local and state courts will close at 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22. They will remain closed on Monday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 26.
- Post offices: Some locations may have limited or extended hours on Dec. 24. Check with your local post office. All post offices are closed on Dec. 25.
- DMV offices: Closed on Dec. 23, Dec. 24, and Dec. 25.
- Stafford landfills: Will close at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24. Closed on Sunday, Dec. 25.
- FRED transit: FRED transit will not operate any services on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
- Rappahannock Regional libraries: Most branches will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22. (The Cooper and Montross libraries will be open regular hours on Friday.) All branches will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23, Sunday, Dec. 24, and Monday, Dec. 25.
- Fredericksburg trash collections: There will be no trash collection on Monday, Dec. 25. All collections will be delayed by one day.
- VRE: VRE trains will not run on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. The trains will run on a special reduced schedule between Christmas and New Year's.
