What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2022 Around Fredericksburg
Labor Day is a much-needed 3-day weekend for many Americans. The holiday also changes the hours of many facilities around Fredericksburg.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Labor Day represents the unofficial end of summer for many Americans. Those who get the day off of work may use it as a final opportunity to break out the grill, visit the beach, or take a dip in the pool.
Around Fredericksburg, many schools and government offices have altered their hours for the holiday. Read on to see what is and isn't open around Fredericksburg, Stafford, and Spotsylvania on Labor Day this year.
- Fredericksburg government offices: City of Fredericksburg government offices are closed on Monday, Sept. 5
- Courts: Courts will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5. See operating updates from the Fredericksburg Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court.
- Fredericksburg City Public Schools: Sept. 5 is an observed holiday for the school system. Schools and offices will be closed.
- Spotsylvania County Public Schools: Sept. 5 is an observed holiday for the school system. Schools and offices will be closed.
- Stafford County Public Schools: Sept. 5 is an observed holiday for the school system. Schools and offices will be closed.
- Parks and Recreation: All trails and parks are open.
- Fredericksburg Visitor Center: The visitor center is open 1o a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5.
- Fredericksburg Regional Transit: FRED will not provide transit services on Monday, Sept. 5. Their administrative offices will also be closed.
- Virginia Railway Express: VRE will not be providing service on Monday, Sept. 5.
- Libraries: The Central Rappahannock Regional Library's locations, including in Fredericksburg and Stafford, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5.
- Post offices: Closed on Monday, Sept. 5.
- Trash: The holiday will not affect the City of Fredericksburg's trash collection.
- Stafford County landfills: The Eskimo Hill and Belman Road facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 5.
