Where is Katelin Akens? Dropped Off at Metro, Then Gone
Family says her wallet and credit cards were found in her luggage in a roadside ditch an hour south of the Franconia-Springfield Metro.

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA- Law enforcement and families members are trying desperately to find a missing 19-year-old Spotyslvania woman last seen an hour north of here on Saturday, Dec. 5.
She was reportedly at the Franconia-Springfield Metro station, and she possibly planned to stop at the mall down the street. She was then expected to get on the train to make a flight at Reagan National Airport.
Katelin Akens never made it to her destination. Her luggage was found in a roadside ditch near Fredericksburg on Monday, somehow making a trip in the opposite direction.

Her family told WRIC that Akens’ wallet, ID, credit cards, cash, phone charger — and that plane ticket — were still in the bag.
“It’s very unusual. She texts me millions of times a day, calls us. It’s unusual for her not to text us,” said her sister, Gabrielle Akens.
