Woman Who Tried To Escape Jail To Stay Behind Bars: Media Report
Taken to Stafford Hospital, she walked away when her guard fell asleep.

A woman who tried to escape from the Rappahannock Regional Jail last month was blocked on Wednesday from being released on bond, at least for a week.
A Stafford County judge granted Catherine Winters Roscoe, 48, a $5,000 bond on a misdemeanor charge, but a prosecutor appealed, saying that she’s a flight risk, the Free Lance-Star reported. Roscoe will remain behind bars until another bond hearing next week.

On April 22, Roscoe was taken from the jail to Stafford Hospital after she complained of heart problems, the Free Lance-Star reported. In the early hours of April 23, she disconnected herself from a heart monitor and walked out of the hospital. The officer who was supposed to guard her had fallen asleep.
Police soon tracked her to a Stafford motel, where she checked in under another name. She faces additional misdemeanor charges as a result of the escape attempt.
