Wrong Place, Wrong Time in Stafford: Police

STAFFORD, VA — Three people in the wrong place at the wrong time exacerbated their bad luck by trying to drive away from investigating officers Monday night in the Washington Square Plaza parking lot.

Jennifer Lynn Jewell, 25, of Partlow Road in Spotsylvania, was charged with possession of controlled substances and possession of paraphernalia.

Dominic Kentrell Brown, 36, of Plank Road in Spotsylvania, was charged with possession of controlled substances and possession of paraphernalia.

Bobby Eugene Goss, 20, of Parlow Road in Spotsylvania was charged with public intoxication.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m., a deputy was patrolling the parking lot on foot with a loss prevention officer looking for a suspected shoplifter. He saw three people in a vehicle and while walking up to it saw the female driver trying to hide a syringe down the front of her pants.

He told her to put her hands on the steering wheel, which she did — while also trying to drive away before another deputy blocked the vehicle with his patrol vehicle.

All three people were then told to show their hands. They didn't, continuing to hide contraband.

They then were ordered out of the vehicle, searched and arrested.
