2 Aggravated Assaults, 2 Commercial Robberies Investigated

HERNDON, VA — Herndon Police Department officers are investing two commercial robberies and two aggravated assaults that took place over the last week in the Town of Herndon, according to the weekly crime report.

In the first aggravated assault case, four males were involved in an argument Saturday, Feb. 22, around 10 p.m., in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive. During the argument, the victim received a laceration to his forearm. He was taken to Reston Hospital and underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.

In the second aggravated assault case, the victim received three stab wounds from a person who was known to him sometime during the overnight hours of Saturday, Feb. 22, in the 2100 block of Highcourt Lane. The victim received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Both aggravated assault cases remain under investigation.

In the first commercial robbery case, two suspects entered a business in the 1000 block of Elden Street on Monday, Feb. 17, after 7:30 p.m., and forced an employee into the bathroom. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled toward Dulles Park Court.

In the second commercial robbery case, a suspect entered a business in the 1100 block of Elden Street on Wednesday, Feb. 19, around 8:30 p.m., pointed a weapon and demanding cash.The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Both commercial robberies remain active investigations.


During the week of Feb. 17-23, Town of Herndon officers issued 139 traffic summons, including one for driving while intoxicated, 15 for driving with no operators license, and one for driving on a suspended license.

There were nine reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
