2 Life Sentences For Herndon Man In 2018 Double Homicide

A Loudoun County judge sentenced a Herndon man to two life sentences for the 2018 fatal shootings of an Aldie woman and her adult son.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A Loudoun County Circuit Court judge levied two life sentences Monday on Brian Kuang-Ming Welsh of Herndon, who was convicted in February of murdering an Aldie woman and her adult son, according to news reports. The life sentences are to run concurrently.

Prosecutors convinced a jury that Welsh had fatally shot Mala Manwani, 65, and her 32-year-old son Rishi on Jan. 29, 2018, according to a WTOP News report. Welsh killed the two in order to steal $3,000 from Rishi Manwani, who was selling drugs from his mother's home on Tomey Court in Aldie.

Judge James Fisher also levied a pair of three-year sentences on Welsh for each felony use of a firearm.
