3 Businesses Win Herndon's Annual 'Patriot Challenge' Contest

Three Herndon business have been recognized for their patriotic decorations for the annual "Patriot Challenge," which coincides with the 4th of July.
Herndon Mayor Lisa Merkel announced the winners from the "Friday Night Live" stage July 8, who were chosen by an "independent judging panel," according to a statement.
Dr. Finley Family Eye Care won for "Most Patriotic" decoration, Dominion Animal Hospital won in the "Best Theme" category and Elden Street Service & Tire Center was declared "Most Creative."

"The spirit of Herndon is evident in the enthusiasm with which our businesses embrace this annual contest," Merkel said in the statement. "It’s always fun to see what they come up with."
The competition was sponsored by the Town of Herndon and the Herndon Chamber of Commerce.

The contest ran from June 20 through July 8.
