3 Herndon College Students Recently Earned Academic Honors At Their Schools

HERNDON, VA — Most college students from the Herndon area have returned to their respective schools for the fall 2021 academic semester. But some students have already distinguished themselves during the spring and summer semesters.

The following college students from Herndon were recognized recently by their respective schools for their academic achievements:

Herndon residents Maya Elassal and Lucas Robins were among the 550 cadets and students at The Citadel to receive gold stars during the spring 2021 semester. Students and cadets can earn gold stars at the Charleston, South Carolina school by being named to the dean's list for achieving a 3.7 grade point average for the spring 2021 semester

Kaitlyn Jones of Herndon graduated with a bachelor of science in Child and Family Studies from Ohio University's College of Health Sciences and Professions. Jones was one of the 1,900 students who graded from the Athens, Ohio school during the summer semester.
