$30K Donation Helps Loved Ones Visit Veterans In Hospice

Herndon-based EagleForce Warrior Foundation donates $30,000 to Capital Caring Health to cover travel expenses of veterans' families.

HERNDON, VA — Thanks to a $30,000 donation from the EagleForce Warrior Foundation, nonprofit will be able to help more veterans be able to spend their final moments with their loved ones.

Capital Caring Health provides elder health, hospice and advanced illness care across the mid-Atlantic for people of all ages. It started the No One Dies Alone Program as a way to assist families cover the cost of spending time with their veteran relatives.

“We are extremely honored to partner with The EagleForce Warrior Foundation and provide this unique program to our nation’s Veterans. The So No One Dies Alone Program will allow families the opportunity to spend final moments together with their loved one, bring joy, and reduce loneliness as they near the end of life,” said Tom Koutsoumpas, president & CEO, Capital Caring Health, in a release.

Through its Vet Jets Program, the EagleForce Warrior Foundation provides private and commercial air travel for the families of veterans of the U.S. armed forces who are nearing the end of their lives. The $30,000 grant will help pay the expenses of families who are not financially able to pay the travels costs of visiting their relatives in care.

“We recognize the sacrifices made by our military and their families, and we’re proud to be a part of this new program ensuring our Veteran heroes are surrounded by the compassionate presence of another human being as they near the end of life,” said Cheryl Campbell, CEO, The EagleForce Warrior Foundation.
