32nd Herndon Mayor's Volunteer Appreciation Awards

Nominate for Outstanding Volunteers, Distinguished Service Award and Distinguished Corporate Service Award.

“Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Luke 6:38).

It is generally understood that our volunteer efforts have a proactive impact on the local community. Volunteering locally is a pleasing and rewarding way to learn new skills and enjoy meeting innovative people and organizations. It is also a great opportunity for us to use our knowledge, experience and abilities to enhance non-profits, school programs and civic organizations.

Volunteering relies on people to provide their precious time and resources. We can act as champions in our respective communities, using our own job related skills (i.e. project management, teaching, business development, sales and services, software and system engineering) to work with organizations that interweave community obligations with the desire to uplift and sustain various local programs.

The 32nd Annual Mayor’s Volunteer Appreciation Awards are sponsored by the Herndon Town Council to congratulate and to extend the Town’s appreciation to the many volunteers who have worked diligently throughout the year to assist in shaping Herndon into an outstanding community and to those who have provided dedicated service through community-wide volunteerism. When one begins to observe the commitment of the businesses, schools, churches and civic organizations in our community, we can feel honored to be living, working and volunteering in this place we call Herndon.

The Mayor’s Volunteer Appreciation Night will be held on Sunday, April 10 at 7:00 pm at the Herndon Community Center to recognize Herndon’s outstanding volunteers during “National Volunteer Week.” Your support is needed to nominate volunteers for our Outstanding Volunteers, Distinguished Service Award and Distinguished Corporate Service Award.
