HERNDON, VA — Detectives from Fairfax County Police Department filed six felony charges for sexual assault against a Winchester man on Tuesday, according to a police release. The assaults occurred between 1999 and 2001 at a Herndon area home.

Detectives began investigating the crimes in May when the victim told police that 48-year-old Rigoberto Garcia Nolasco had unlawful sexual contact with them in 2001. At the time, police say that Nolasco lived in the 13300 block of Schwenger Place in Herndon, where he had provided the victim with piano lessons. Although Garcia Nolasco did not have a piano instruction business, he did give lessons to other juveniles who had been recommended to him by community contacts, police say. Detectives identified two other victims during their investigation.

On Tuesday, members of FCPD's Major Crimes Bureau’s Sex Crimes Squad charged Garcia Nolasco with indecent liberties with a minor, two counts of aggravated sexual assault, and three counts of animate object sexual penetration. He is being held without bail at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
