Patch Recognizes College Students From Herndon Who Earned Academic Honors

Patch recognizes academic achievements of Herndon college students who have received honors at their schools.

HERNDON, VA — To shine a light on the academic achievements of college students from the Herndon area, Patch shares information provided the students' families and Merit News.

Noelle Carter, who graduated with honors in 2021 from Herndon High School, was named to the fall 2021 semester dean's list at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Carter is in the honors program and is a dean's scholar, majoring in music technology.

Laura Evans of Herndon was named to the fall 2021-22 president's list at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Undergraduate students who are ranked in the top three percent of their class are named to the list, which recognized academic excellence. Evans is earning a bachelor of science in degree in kinesiology, nutrition and health.

Cassie White of Herndon is a graduate of Westfield High School, majoring in acting at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. She was recently named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester. To earn a spot on the dean's list, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more graded hours and earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

The following undergraduate students from Herndon earned a spot on the dean's list with highest honors for the fall 2021 semester at McDaniel College in Westminister, Maryland:

In order to be named to the dean's list with highest honors at McDaniel College, a student must earn a 3.90 or higher grade point average for the semester. To earn a spot on the dean's list, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more graded hours and earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Lydia Payne of Herndon was named to the dean's list at list for the fall 2021 term at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, George. To earn a spot on the dean's list, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more graded hours and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Jaden Richardson of Herndon was named to the dean's list with honors for the fall 2021 semester at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. Richardson is majoring in studio arts. To earn a spot on the dean's list with honors, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more graded hours and earn a grade point average of 3.5 through 3.64.

Molly Shapiro of Herndon earned dean's list honors for the fall semester at the University of Tampa in Florida. Shapiro is majoring in Nursing BSN-PRE. To earn a spot on the dean's list, a student must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher for the semester.

Josecarlos Martinez Seminario of Herndon was named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland. To earn a spot on the dean's list, a student must complete a minimum of 12 credit hour and have a grade point average of 3.4 or higher.

The following undergraduate students from Herndon graduated with honors during commencement ceremonies in December at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia:

  • Audrey LaMothe of Herndon graduated cum laude with a degree in health sciences and nursing.
  • Caroline Maurer of Oak Hill graduated cum laude with a degree in nursing.
  • Andrew Fialk of Herndon graduated magna cum laude with a degree in marketing.
