Amazon Opening Huge Campus In Herndon

The tech giant will bring up 1,500 jobs to the Herndon area under the deal.

HERNDON, VA — Amazon Web Services will establish a new East Coast corporate campus at One Dulles Tower in Herndon, a huge move that will create up to 1,500 jobs, Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced this week.

Herndon beat out locations in Texas and Washington state for the project.

“Amazon Web Services has quickly established a major presence in Fairfax County, and we are proud that the company has chosen to expand here with an east coast corporate campus that further diversifies our economic base,” Gerald L. Gordon, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, said in a statement. “Any community would be thrilled to have this employer and this kind of corporate presence, and I am delighted the county’s IT base, workforce and quality of life offer the right mix for the company.”
