On November 18, Hutchison ES's Girls On The Run club participated in the 5K race at Jiffy Lube Live. Despite the chilly temperatures, all of the girls and their buddy runners had smiles on their faces.
The 25 girls started training for this 5K in October. They would meet after school and practice outside (weather permitting) or in the gym. During these training sessions, the girls were building self-esteen and were encouraged to make healthy choices.
To help ensure the program's continuation, a variety of fundraisers was held, including a bake sale on Election Day.
