Armed Robbers Take Cash From W&OD Trail Bicyclist: Report
Town of Herndon Police are investigating the Jan. 24 robbery of a bicyclist on the W&OD Trail near Trailside Park.

HERNDON, VA -- Officers from the Town of Herndon Police Department are investigating the armed robbery of a bicyclist on the W&OD Trail, according to the weekly crime report.
On Friday, Jan. 24, three unknown individuals approached the victim as he was riding his bicycle along the W&OD Trail near the 100 block of Crestview Drive in Herndon. The individuals showed a weapon to the victim. After demanding he turn over his belongings, they took money and other items, before fleeing through Trailside Park.
During the week of Jan. 21-28, Town of Herndon officers issued 149 traffic summons, including 6 for driving while intoxicated, 20 for driving with no operators license, and 3 for driving on a suspended license.

There were 10 reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
