Armed Robbery Of Taxi Driver Investigated By Herndon Police

HERNDON, VA — The Herndon Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place on Tuesday, March 31 in the Worldgate area, according to the weekly crime report.

A taxi driver told police that as two of his passengers were exiting his vehicle in the 300 block of Juniper Court, one of them pointed a weapon at him and demanded cash. The two passengers fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. This case remains under investigation.

During the week of March 31-April5 , Town of Herndon officers issued 31 traffic summons, including 1 for driving while intoxicated, 1 for driving with a suspended license and 1 for driving with no operators license.

There were 4 reportable traffic accidents in Herndon last week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
