Art Fest sale at UUCR benefits local nonprofit thrift shop
The sale of high-end donations to The Closet is set for 3-6:30 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 19, at UUCR, 1625 Wiehle Ave., Reston.
The second annual Art Fest features oil paintings, prints, frames, posters, books and collectibles donated to The Closet, a nonprofit thrift shop located at 845 Station Street in Herndon.
Among the items are a framed Thomas Kincade print, “Morning Glory Cottage”, and an original photogravure of Bryonia alba white bryony with tendrils.
All proceeds will benefit The Closet, founded 40 years ago by a coalition of Herndon-Reston-Sterling faith communities seeking to better serve the community through a centralized clothing closet. The shop offers a multitude of items in addition to clothing, including electronics, kitchen ware, toys, books, CDs and DVDs, to name a few. Shopping hours at the Station Street location are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Donations are accepted 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
