Man Who Fled Attempted Robbery In Stolen Vehicle Arrested By Herndon Police
A Herndon man is facing multiple charges, including assault, in connection with the Dec. 12 attempted robbery of an Elden Street business.

HERNDON, VA — Town of Herndon Police arrested a 20-year-old Jorge Antonio Cruz of Herndon in connection with the attempted robbery of a local business on the morning of Dec. 12, according to the weekly crime report.
At 9:21 a.m., a Cruz entered a business in the 700 block of Grant St., implied that he had a gun and demanded money, according to police. Employees of the business were able to detain Cruz until officers arrived on the scene.
After handcuffing Cruz, the officers were putting him into a police cruiser when he broke free. Cruz then drove away in a car that had been reported stolen on Nov. 11, according to the release.

Cruz, who police charged with robbery, assault, and obstruction of justice, is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
