Authorities Close Herndon Parkway
Police say "milling operations" have necessitated the closure.

HERNDON, VA -- A portion of Herndon Parkway has been shut down due to some "milling operations" in the area Monday and Tuesday, police say.
Herndon police issued an alert Monday that westbound Herndon Parkway was closed at Palmer Drive near Elden Street, and eastbound Herndon Parkway was closed to through traffic, forcing drivers to turn right or left onto Elden Street.
Police tweeted Tuesday morning that the same closures were currently in place for "milling operations." They did not provide an estimated time when the closure would be lifted.
