Bike to Work Day Pit Stops Near You on Friday
Virginia is tops in the South in supporting bicyclists, survey says.

Thousands of Washington, D.C.-area commuters are expected to use pedal power to get to work on Friday for Bike to Work Day 2015.
Events in the D.C. area are organized by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, who say that biking to work has benefits for both employees and employers. Among them: reduced health care and parking costs.

Virginia ranks 13th nationally among states in supporting bicyclists, and tops in the South, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The commenwealth moved up from 18th in last year’s survey, conducted by the League of American Bicyclists. For more info from VDOT and the survey, click here.
There will be 79 “pit stops” for bicycle commuters around the metro area, including one at the Herndon Town Hall green, at the intersection of Lynn and Elden Streets, just off the W&OD trail.

Pit stops will feature free refreshments and a raffle for a free bicycle. the Town Green stop runs from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
