Updated: Herndon Golf Course Death Appears To Be Accidental
The body of an adult male was found in a pond Friday morning by an employee at Herndon Centennial Golf Course.

HERNDON, VA — Detectives from the Herndon Police Department believe that man whose body's was found Friday morning at Herndon Centennial Golf Course had died accidentally, according to Lisa Herndon, HPD spokeswoman.
Police were summoned to the golf course around 6 a.m., on Friday for the report of a deceased body being found.

A golf course employee found the body in a pond on the property and contacted police, according to Herndon. HPD identified the body as that of an adult male. Following a preliminary investigation, police believe that the death was accidental in nature.
As of 4 p.m., on Friday, Herndon police have not released the name of the victim. They are continuing to investigate this case and are working to notify next of kin.
