According to Rocco's website, his passion for art began at a young age when he talked his parents into getting him The Golden Book of the Civil War for Christmas at the age of 9. He began meticulously copying the photos and drawings himself. Rocco, who is originally from Illinois, lives and paints in the Shenandoah Valley.
The opening reception at ArtSpace will take place tonight from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. During the first hour of the reception attendees will be able to meet and speak with the artist, view the exhibit and enjoy refreshments. At about 8:30 p.m. Rocco will present a slide show on the genre of historical art and the methods used to create it.
