Carjacking Charges Levied Against 15-Year-Old Herndon Girl: DC Police

HERNDON, VA — A 15-year-old girl from Herndon was arrested Sunday in connection with a pair of carjacking incidents and a stabbing that occurred over the weekend in Washington, D.C., according to a police release.

Around 8:47 p.m. on Saturday, two suspects approached the driver of a vehicle that was exiting a parking space in the 1200 block of V Street, Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The suspects demanded the driver turn over their keys and then began assaulting them. The driver was able to drive off in their vehicle, according to police.

Around 2:17 a.m. on Sunday, the two suspects approached two people who were sitting in a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest, according to police.

The suspects demanded the victims get out of their vehicle. One of the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the victims, according to police. They then left the area in the victims' vehicle. The injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

MPD officers arrested the two suspects a short time later after the stolen vehicle was involved in a traffic accident in the 900 block of 17th Street, Northeast, according to the release.

Police identified the suspects as two 15-year-old girls, one from Herndon and the from Northeast, D.C. Police charged them with attempted unarmed carjacking and armed carjacking with a knife.
