DULLES, VA — A 26-year-old Aldie man who coaches a youth track team in the Dulles area is facing multiple felonies in connection with the possession and production of child sexual abuse material, according to a Fairfax County Police Department blog post.

Detectives from FCPD's Major Crimes Bureau Missing and Exploited Persons Squad were notified by a juvenile earlier this year that a man was trying to extort money from them and their family by threatening to release illegal images to the victim's family members. The man had contacted the victim in January by text, demanding unlawful images.

During their investigation, detectives determined that one of the victim's social media accounts had been illegally accessed last year. The suspect contacted the victim by text in October 2020, identifying himself as a support specialist of a social media company, according the blog post. Police say that it was during this exchange that the man illegally gained access to the victim's account. On the same day, the man then uploaded the illegal images of the victim to his phone.
