HERNDON, VA — Members of the public were advised to avoid the 500 block of Florida Avenue in Herndon Monday afternoon due to a death investigation, according to a 3:19 p.m. post on the Town of Herndon Police Department's Twitter account.

There was no immediate threat to the public, but fire units and HAZMAT crews had been requested, according to the tweet.

Police said that no crime had been committed, but crews noticed something that prompted a request for a HAZMAT response, according to a 3:46 p.m. update.
