Drunk Herndon Man Crashes Car, Flees: Police

Police later located the suspect and arrested him on several charges.

STERLING, VA -- A drunk Herndon man crashed his car and then fled the area, only to be later tracked down by authorities, police say.

Police responded to the intersection of Old Ox Road and Douglas Ct. in Sterling at around 2:42 p.m. on Dec. 17 to a report of a property damage crash from which the suspect driver fled, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

The Herndon Police Department later located the man, who was identified as 21-year-old Cristopher G. Duarte-Alvarado of Herndon, the report states.

He was taken to the hospital to be checked out, and then arrested on charges of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended driver's license, and hit and run.

He was released on a summons for the charges and transferred to the care of hospital staff.
