Ecstasy Seized By Customs Officials At Dulles Airport

Customs officials seized the drug ecstasy in a special delivery package arriving from the UK at Washington Dulles International Airport.

DULLES, VA — Officers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized the drug ecstasy and an encapsulating machine from two packages last week at Washington Dulles International Airport, according to a CBP release.

Customs officers seized the encapsulating machine on Saturday, March 7, in a special delivery parcel from China. The package was heading to an address in Riverside, California. Encapsulating machines, which must be permitted to be imported to the U.S., are used to compress pharmaceuticals or other materials into capsules. The package originally arrived on Friday, Feb. 28.

Customs officers seized 29 grams of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, on Sunday, March 8. Originating in the United Kingdom, the parcel was headed for Miami. It arrived at Dulles on Saturday, March 7.
