HES Art Department is participating in our 2nd annual Chalk4Peace celebration on Wednesday Sept 21.
You are invited to join us on Wednesday, Sept 21 to color Herndon the color of peace!
Chalk 4 Peace is an event that is coordinated to coincide with the GLOBAL CHALK4PEACE.org organization. It is an organization celebrating creativity in children and their ideas of peace. Many children from around the world will be creating chalk art about what peace means to them. This event stretches across sidewalks, driveways and playgrounds to places as far as South Africa. It is meant to be a positive event to promote a positive idea – PEACE. It is not meant to be promoting any political or religious idea. CHALK4PEACE is a way for young people to begin imagining and thinking about what peace means in their lives. It is a great way to start off the school year as a community project to promote peace.

We are gathering sidewalk chalk to help supplement our supply for this event. If you have any that you can donate, we would greatly appreciate it.
