Voce Chamber Singers will highlight the contributions of women composers to the world of music.

"When he was asked about why only male composers were included in his repertoire, the late conductor Sir Thomas Beecham said, "There are no women composers, never have been, and possibly never will be." He died in 1961, but were he still alive today, he might be wishing he had bitten his tongue on that one! Now, there is nothing at all unusual or radical or pioneering about offering a concert of music by women. This concert explores only some of the available options: the countless composers active today, many who were ignored in their own time simply because they were women, and a host of singer-songwriters who have graced the culture with beauty, not first of all because they're women, but because they have something important to say"
