Saturday Hoop Jam @ Trailside Park!

Join us for a hoop jam at the park Saturday! Hooping and hoopdance is for all ages (I teach adult hoopdance classes at Herndon Community Center). We use hoola hoops of all sizes and weights—the bigger the hoop the easier it is. Even if you haven't hooped since you were a kid, you can learn!

This week's free hoop jam is moving from it's usual spot to Saturday afternoon from 4-5:30/6 p.m. (Normally hoop jams are Sunday afternoons.) It's supposed to be about 65 degrees and sunny, so it should be a great day to hoop in the park. Come join! Don't know what hooping is and want to see? Check out one of my videos here, or visit Hooping.org.

Hoop House Rules
1) I will bring extra hoops for those in need—please keep in mind they're for borrowing and return them after you're done (though if you like, I do sell them). I've got sizes for kids and adults and everything in between.
2) All ages are welcome, thus I'll try to keep my playlist clean. If there's a specific song you want played let me know and I'll add it to my playlist. Send me an email at leslie@tillywhirls.com.
3) Hoop jams are for practice and socializing. They are not formal classes. Most hoopers are more than happy to share a trick or a tip or two, or get a new hooper started, but use it as time to get to know your hoop and how you move in it, practice moves your working on, chat with other area hoopers or just get groovy.
4) If you bring children, please make sure to keep an eye on them (they're welcome to bring their own hoops too, but I'll have a couple of kiddo hoops). It's very easy for little ones to run into an adult's hoop. For littler ones a hoop spinning at waist height on an adult is often the height where it could clock them in the head. (I've seen it happen quite a few times!) Make sure they know to give everyone space. Big hoopers keep in mind little hoopers may be present.
5) Be kind and courteous to each other, pick up after yourselves, don't litter! The Town of Herndon lets us use their parks for hoop gatherings for no cost and we don't even need a permit, so let's never give them a reason to have to consider it.

* If the weather looks iffy the day of, check the NoVA Spinners group Meeup page or Tilly Whirls' Facebook page for further updates/cancellations. For more info on Tilly and her hoops visit www.TillyWhirls.com
