The Blues Jazz Ensemble began as the U.S. Army Dance Band, created in 1942 to entertain soldiers and civilians in the battle zone during WWII. It has evolved into the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Army, a component of the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.”
