"Everything Christmas" sale has something for everyone
The Closet's annual offsite sale of holiday-related donations is a great place to find unique seasonal decor or unusual gifts
The Closet’s second annual “Everything Christmas” sale begins Friday with a preview sale from 4-7 p.m. and continues Saturday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Location is the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church of Herndon, 681 Elden Street.
The “Everything Christmas” sale is the perfect place to find something special for yourself or for someone on your gift list. Most of the items are one-of-a-kind. There are vintage items as well as popular collectibles. Add to a collection at a fraction of the original cost!
Items for sale run the gamut from purely decorative to very useful. Items include artificial Christmas trees, White House ornaments, seasonal china and serving pieces, holiday-themed puzzles, candles and candlesticks, silk flowers and nativity sets, plus snowmen, angels and Santas of all shapes and sizes and price ranges. Hanukkah and winter-themed items also are available.

The Closet is a nonprofit thrift shop serving the community since 1974. It is located at 845 Station Street, less than three blocks from First Baptist, one of the founding members of The Closet. More Christmas items as well as a huge selection of low-priced clothing, household goods, toys and collectibles are available at The Closet.
Profits from the “Everything Christmas” sale and The Closet’s regular sales are used to support the community through grants to local nonprofits and scholarships to high school students. The Closet also works with local social service agencies and annually gives away more than $55,000 in free clothing and shoes to clients referred by those agencies.

The Closet’s hours at the Station Street store are 10-2 Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. In December, Saturday hours will be 9-3. Donation hours are 8-3 Monday-Saturday. Final day for sales in 2014 will be Saturday, Dec. 20.
