Five Things To Know This Week

The annual Friends of Runnymede Park meeting is this Sunday and the Herndon Town Council will discuss setting this season's fees at the golf course.

1. The this Sunday, March 11 from 7-9 p.m. at ArtSpace (750 Center St.) in downtown Herndon. The meeting will include a wine and cheese reception, slideshow of photographs of the park taken by Herndon High School photography students, award presentations, a brief business meeting and more. 

2. Organizers for the from the community to help ensure the evening is a success. ANGP and the Herndon High community work together to prepare a celebration committed to keeping graduating seniors safe through providing an evening of games, activities, food, prizes and more. Organizers are looking for monetary donations, gift certificates, merchandise and more. 

3. This week's Herndon Town Council work session has a short agenda with the council receiving an update and information on setting this season's Herndon Centennial Golf Course fees and awarding three contracts for services provided to the town.

4. The first of the year will be held at Herndon Middle School at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 8. Team captains will meet in the library. Future team captain meetings (to be held April 12, May 10 and May 31) will be held in the middle school's cafeteria at 6 p.m. 

5. age 18 and older. The competition is open to digital, analog, color or monochromatic photography as well as any printing techniques. Any subject used is welcome and there is no required theme for entries. The juror for this year's fine art photography competition is Mary Louise Ravese of Bella Vista Photography and the deadline for entries is March 24.
