Free Senior Safety Summit in Herndon This Friday
Residents will be able to ask local police, fire and medical officials questions on senior safety.

HERNDON, VA — If you have a loved one in assisted living or you're a caregiver yourself, you might be interested in a new safety summit geared toward seniors in Herndon this Friday.
The free Senior Safety Summit is aimed at the Herndon and Reston communities and will be held at the Herndon Senior Center at 873 Grace Street on Friday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Fairfax County Police Department, Herndon Police Department, Sheriff's Office and other authorities will be on hand to address community safety topics at the forum.

"The public is invited to attend and learn about important safety topics such as fires, injury prevention, home and personal safety," a statement reads, noting the topics to be discussed include Project Lifesaver (which keeps at-risk residents safer and reduces care-giver anxiety), File of Life, Yellow Dot Program, disaster preparedness, scam/fraud defense measures, Text 9-1-1 and mosquito and tick bit prevention.
