Glorious Weather Coming To Herndon This Weekend
Got the 100-degree-index blues? Get ready for the cure this weekend.

HERNDON, VA -- It's been a brutal week in Herndon weather-wise -- perhaps the most brutal of the summer. But after multiple days of 100+ heat indexes, it is about to get super nice out there.
A cold front will bring showers, thunderstorms, and much cooler temperatures starting Friday and into the weekend. So unfortunately, although the temperatures will be nice, we won't get much in the way of sunny skies to go along with them. But, it's better than the alternative.
Highs will peak in the upper 80s in our area on Friday, with precipitation at a 60 percent chance throughout the day, and more thunderstorms rolling in by the evening.

On Saturday the high peaks in the mid-70s, and on Sunday it may only get up to the low 70s, so we'll finally get a taste of that fall weather that should be coming before too long.
However, showers will dampen the mood somewhat. Total rainfall for the weekend should be between a half inch to an inch, with scattered showers and thunderstorms rolling in and out.

So what about next week? It'll get a little warmer, but fortunately the National Weather Service doesn't expect highs to get any higher than the mid-80s from Monday through Thursday, so fingers crossed.
