Great Escape: Matsutake Japanese Restaurant
A great way to spend lunch or dinner with your friends

If you forgot to pack your lunch or if you aren't in the mood to make dinner tonight then this week's Great Escape. The is one of my favorite places to dine and a great place to meet up for a date night or with friends.
Located in the Worldgate Center, Matsutake is both a steak house and restaurant. It offers a daily (and might I add a very popular) lunch buffet, which includes sushi, sashimi, miso and udon soups, tempura vegetables, salads and other hot dishes.
Additionally, the Matsutake has hibachi tables on the opposite side of the restuarant that allows you to order from a menu before watching it cook in front of you.
My favorite dish is the Hibachi Shrimp, with your choice of noodles or rice and vegetables however there is a large variety of menu items to choose from. Vegetarians are also welcome to order tofu teriyaki, vegetable yakisoba, banana tempura, an avocado roll, seaweed salad, cucumber snomono, rice, miso soup or a house salad.
If you can't stay and eat Matsutake also offers take out or delivery. There is also a lunch box option that comes with a mix of delicious chicken teriyaki, vegetable tempura, California roll, gyoza, miso soup, salad and steamed rice. For delivery, orders must have a minimum order of $17 and there is a delivery charge of $3.99.
So, if you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine then consider a visit to Matsutake’s restaurant. It's opened for lunch and dinner seven days a week and is located at 13049 Worldgate Dr, in Herndon. Call 703-787-3700.
