Great Escape: The Bagel Cafe
Where to hang out with your significant other or friends as soon as your day begins
This week's Great Escape is for the early birds in the area or someone who is looking for a new option when it comes to lunch.
The Bagel Cafe is an authentic "NY-Style" Bagel Shop/Delicatessen located on the corner of Elden Street and Herndon Parkway. Menu items include a large variety of bagels and cream cheese spreads, which is one of my favorite items to order. You can also choose from a number of breakfast sandwiches, omelets, muffins and scones.
If you'd prefer to stop for lunch there are numerous soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts. A popular snack is the over-sized black and white Cookie, which is made fresh from scratch, on the premises. The cafe also serves gourmet coffee and espresso including other beverage options. Everything on the menu is under $10.
The Bagel Cafe can only be found in Herndon and is neither a franchise nor a chain. Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week. So mark it on your calendar to meet a few friends or that special someone at the Bagel Cafe for breakfast or lunch. The business is located at 300 Elden St., in Herndon. Call 703-318-7555.
