Heavy Winds in Herndon Monday, Power Outages Possible
Wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour have already resulted in power outages in the D.C. area, and Herndon could be next.

HERNDON, VA — As gusting winds blow through the Washington, D.C. area, power outages are possible in Herndon and have already been reported elsewhere in the Northern Virginia area, so be prepared and promptly report any outages to Dominion Power.
With wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour Monday along with heavy rain, power outages will be a risk for the whole region throughout the day. To alert Dominion to a power outage, click here, or call 1-866-366-4357.
As of about 10 a.m. Monday, Dominion was reporting a total of 968 customers were without power in Northern Virginia.

"If your power goes out, always report it. We don't know your power is out unless you tell us!" Dominion states on their website. "Leave a lamp or light on so you'll know when power is restored. If using fuel-type portable stoves or lanterns for cooking and lighting, make sure you have good ventilation."
