Herndon Boy, 16, Cited For Attempted Robbery At Gunpoint: Police

HERNDON, VA — Herndon Police arrested a 16-year-old town resident on robbery and weapons charges, according to the weekly crime report.

On Tuesday, Nov. 16, the boy approached the victim in the 800 block of Ferndale Avenue, pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim's backpack, according to police. When the victim refused to comply, the boy hopped on the victim's bike and rode away. Police were able to identify the suspect through witness statements and a cellphone video of the incident.

After the boy was processed at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center, he was released and dropped off at his home by officers.
