Herndon Celebrates Lights on W&OD Trail

As it got dark Tuesday night, Herndon officials, staff and community members celebrated the completion of the W&OD Trail Lighting project.

The lights were installed from Van Buren Street to Ferndale Avenue, with a $200,000 matching trails grant from the Va. Department of Conservation and Recreation.

More than 100 joined Mayor Lisa Merkel and Herndon’s Town Council to celebrate the new lights. See a photo gallery of the event at Herndon Parks and Rec on Facebook.
