Herndon Community Pours In Donations For Slain Immigrant's Family
A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $80,000 to support the family of Resham Bajgain.

HERNDON, VA -- It's been nine days since Nepalese immigrant Resham Bajgain was killed while working at the Sunoco gas station in Herndon on the 4th of July, and the Herndon community has come together to donate more than $80,000 to support his family.
Police were called to the Sunoco in the 13300 block of Franklin Farm Road just after 1:15 a.m. on July 4 for a report of a robbery, and took 19-year-old Mohamed A. Abdullahi of Herndon in custody in a shopping center parking lot. Police say Bajgain, 40, died from blunt force trauma to the upper body.
The GoFundMe page states that Bajgain came to the United States from Nepal in September 2017 with his wife and 5-year-old daughter. As of Friday afternoon, the campaign had raised $80,907 from 1,529 people.

"Now with shocking news of his death. We are all very sad and keep running tears on our eyes," the page states. "Anyone can guess how his family situation is."
The money would go to complete his final rites and support his family.

Meanwhile, Fairfax County Police have released a mugshot of Abdullahi, the accused killer.
Police are asking anyone with information, especially the driver of a Pontiac GTO that was near the area at the time, to reach out to detectives with information.
