Herndon Council Honors Herndon DeMolay and DeMolay Week

The Commander William L. Herndon Chapter, Order of DeMolay, was recognized by the Herndon Town Council for DeMolay Week Tuesday evening. DeMolay week took place March 17-24. 

DeMolay is a character-building organization that includes young men ages 12-21 who are dedicated to taking on active roles in the community and becoming the leaders of tomorrow. 

The Herndon chapter of DeMolay received the 2012 Chapter of the Year award from the Virginia State Association of the DeMolay. It's the fifth time the chapter has one the award and the third consecutive year. 

The Herndon chapter also assisted in establishing the new DeMolay chapter in Ashburn. The Herndon chapter has been providing service in the Herndon area for 35 years, supporting Herndon Relay for Life, area Special Olympics events, providing DJ services and more.
