Herndon Driver Flees Officers, Crashes On Elden Street: Police

The man faces a litany of charges, and is being held without bond.

HERNDON, VA — A man has been arrested after fleeing police and crashing behind a business on Elden Street, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

Police officers observed a vehicle "driving erratically" in the 1000 block of Elden Street at around 1 a.m. on Aug. 18, and attempted to pull the car, the report states.

"The suspect attempted to evade police before getting in a one-car accident behind a business," the report adds.

Police arrested 25-year-old Elmer Luis Matamoros of Herndon on charges of felony eluding, driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, and no operators license. He was not injured in the crash.

He was taken to the Fairfax Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
