Herndon Extended Forecast: Here Comes The Sun
After getting soaked for a full week, the showers may linger but the sun is here to stay.

HERNDON, VA -- It was quite a wet week in the Herndon area, but all that is about to change as we start to get a true taste of the summer in the coming days.
We got rain every since day last week except for Sunday, but that won't be the case this time around, although there could be some showers early in the week.
And that shower threat starts Monday, with rain likely in the afternoon toward the evening and highs relatively comfortable at around 80 degrees. Before that happens, though, we'll have partly sunny skies, so get out and enjoy the mild and sunny conditions.

The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang predicts that we may continue to have a few showers into Tuesday morning, and a "weak" cold front in the late afternoon toward the evening could bring more showers. But at least temperatures will still be pretty mild, with highs around 80.
And that front may stick around into Wednesday, but for the most part the day should be mostly sunny with highs climbing into the 80s. And Thursday into the Memorial Day weekend, things should be quite sunny and highs will creep higher into the 80s. Humidity will be strong, so it's going to feel a bit like summer.

So what about the Memorial Day weekend? Well, if you're thinking of grilling outdoors, keep an eye on a "possible surge of moisture coming out of the Gulf of Mexico," CWG warns. But at least it would mean mild temperatures, with highs being limited to the 70s.
