Herndon Forecast: Mild Weather Continues, More Rain Is Coming

HERNDON, VA -- This weekend was not a fluke: temperatures will stay fairly mild for the rest of this week, but be prepared to get dumped on as Hurricane Florence figures to head Herndon's way after making landfall later this week.

The National Weather Service predicts that highs will top out in the low 80s on Monday and Tuesday, and the mid 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, and then drop back down to the low 80s Friday through Sunday. The lows will dive to around 70 degrees some nights, meaning it will feel absolutely wonderful outside most of the time.

So what about the sun? Unfortunately, you won't see much of that this week. Tuesday appears to be the only day where rain doesn't dominate the forecast, and even then it's supposed to be mostly cloudy.

We may get a few scattered showers to start the week, but the real rain will probably start this weekend after Hurricane Florence makes landfall and takes a turn up the coast toward us.

So keep that umbrella handy this week.
