Herndon High School Assistant Principal Resigns After 19 Years
Kelly Barr will be heading to Baltimore County to teach.

HERNDON, VA — Kelly Barr, the assistant principal at Herndon High School, announced Thursday that he would resign from Fairfax County Public Schools after 19 years.
In a letter address to "friends, families and colleagues in the Herndon and FCPS community," Barr said that he would continue on in his career at Baltimore County Public Schools.
Barr said he would be leaving the Herndon community with "a content feeling in my heart."

In the letter, he said that while he wouldn't get to fulfill one of his primary goals in being there to accompany the Class of 2018 during the journey to graduation, "you can still reach me if and when you need me," adding that they were in "good hands" with present leadership.
"As I prepare for the next phase of my career, I will carry my passion for supporting students, teachers, and community with me at full throttle. Herndon, you have been my home and family for the last ten years and I will miss you. I wish you all the best…and like Oskar Schindler, I just wish I could have done more."
