Herndon House Fire Extinguished; No Injuries Reported: Updated
No injuries were reported in connection with a house fire that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the Town of Herndon.

HERNDON, VA — Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel extinguished a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Herndon, according to a 2:31 p.m. post on the department's official Twitter account.
All occupants of the home in the 800 block of Winterhaven Place were evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to the tweet.

Units from Station 436/Frying Plan were dispatched around 1:30 p.m., according to Lt. Adrian Cubbage in a video posted at 7:15 p.m. on Twitter.
"We arrived on scene with heavy smoke and fire from the garage and the second floor, multiple windows upstairs," he said. "We extinguished the fire from the interior and the exterior of the home. There were no injuries. Fire investigators are on the scene."

Summerfield Drive between Spring Knoll and Tumani drives was closed for about two hours due to the fire, according to a Town of Herndon Police Twitter post. The road reopened to traffic around 3:31 p.m.
No information about the cause of the fire or the extend of damage was immediately available. This story will be updated as more information is release.
