Herndon Man Charged In Malicious Wounding Incident: Police

Herndon Police arrested a town resident in connection with a February malicious wounding. Two recent robberies are also under investigation.

HERNDON, VA — Herndon Police arrested a town resident and charged him in connection with a February malicious wounding incident, according to the weekly crime report. Police are also investigating two recent robberies that took place in Herndon.

On Feb. 22, around 10 p.m., an argument broke out among four men in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive, resulting in one of the men receiving a laceration to his forearm. The victim was taken to Reston Hospital. Once there, he underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.

After conducting an investigation, Herndon Police arrested Jeffrey Anderson Alfaro Escamilla, 21, of Herndon, and charged him with malicious wounding. Escamilla was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held without bond.

The first of the two robberies Herndon Police are investigating took place March 17, in the 100 block of Elden Street. The victim told police he was approached by a man from behind who then demanded he turn over his cellphone. A struggle ensued and the suspect fled the scene with the victim's cellphone.

The second robbery under investigation occurred on March 20, in the 900 block of Palmer Drive.
A taxi driver told police that three male passengers entered his vehicle, produced a weapon and demanded cash from the driver. The trio fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money as well as other property.


During the week of March 16-22, Town of Herndon officers issued 180 traffic summons, including 10 for driving with no operators license, and 5 for driving on a suspended license.

There were 4 reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during those two weeks. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
