Herndon Man Charged In Stabbing Incident: Police Report
Herndon Police charged a local man in connection with a recent stabbing incident on Elden Street.

HERNDON,VA — A Herndon man was arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that took place Sunday on Elden Street, according to the weekly crime report from the Herndon Police Department.
HPD arrested John Patrick Murphy, 45, of Herndon, and charged him with malicious wounding for trying to stab a person who was known to him. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

HPD officers are also investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Aug. 4 in the town. The victim was walking in the 500 block of Early Fall Court around 4:35 p.m., when four individuals assaulted and attempted to rob him. The victim was able to get the attention of residents inside a nearby home, which led the suspects to flee. This case remains under investigation.

Between Aug. 3-9, Town of Herndon officers issued 56 traffic summons, including two for driving while intoxicated and seven for driving with no operator's license.
There were four reportable traffic accidents in Herndon. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
